Buon appetito! Italian Salad with Sweet Italian Vinaigrette

Italian Salad2

I totally admit that one of the best things about going to Italian restaurants are those awesome salads with the sweet dressing.  I love the stuff.  I can’t just skip the salad when the sweet dressing is on the menu.

You won’t believe how easy this is.  There is no need to buy this in a bottle with additives.

First, I want to show you an awesome salad dressing container.  These are actually “one cup freezer jars” that you can find in the canning section of the store.

I know this isn’t the best photo, but I want to show you these containers.  They are plastic.  The lid screws on which is nice when you are shaking oil and vinegar around….I’m just sayin’.

Sweet Italian Salad Dressing

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup rice wine vinegar

2 tablespoons agave or honey

1 tsp Italian seasoning-=Mix together

Ok, now for the salad.

Here is a list of things you can put in your salad:

lettuce/spinach

black olives

provel cheese

pimento

artichoke hearts

red onion

parmesan cheese

croutons

pepperoncini peppers

pepperoni

For me, the provel cheese is a must with black olives and pimento.
