This year, I wanted to try some new cookie decorating techniques. After scanning blogs and Pinterest, I kept noticing how pretty the cookies were on a site called The Sweet Adventures of Sugar Belle. WOW. She is amazing. There are tutorials on cookies and icing that really show you everything you need to now. So, CLICK HERE to go to her site. Make your favorite roll-out dough recipe, or use the basic sugar cookie recipe on her site. I watched all her tutorials on royal icing and used her favorite royal icing recipe. Incase you are new to baking, royal icing is the kind that will harden after and not smudge.
My daughter and I made and decorated these and they are so pretty and taste awesome.
I think it is easier to bake the cookies one day and then ice them the next.
I did as the tutorials instructed on decorating.
1. Make the border:
2. Fill in with “flood icing”:
If you want to add sprinkles, you can just after you fill an area.
I am just super impressed with how these turned out. I hope they inspire you to make some cookies for your Valentine:)
